Shay's show name, like their call name, comes from the streamer Shayy, as they use a froggit as their icon. In a saga of tweets with the company Materia Collective regarding a copyright claim on one of Shayy's videos, Materia Collective began one response with "shayy it's late, go to bed", which went on to become an inside joke in their community, and eventually also Shay's show name.
